The Abyssinian Cat was the first cat to undergo a kidney transplant. Terra Cotta was a 3 year old Abyssinian who lived in Eagle River, Alaska with her owner Will England. Terra Cotta underwent the kidney transplant because she was suffering from amyloidosis, a form of kidney failure that is common to Abyssinian cats.
