History of the Ragdoll Cat
The Ragdoll cat
came about when a white longhair cat was cross-bred with a seal
point birman
in the 1960s. Later, the burmese cat breed was added to the
mix.
The Ragdoll is
a color-pointed cat and can be either 'mitted' or 'bi-color'. This is a large, well-boned cat with a
long body. Its neck
is short and heavy but strong. The ragdoll cat's eyes is sapphire
in color and it enjoys a long, plush, silky coat that is longest
around the neck and outer edges of the face.
Its tail
is long, fluffy and in proportion to its body. The fur doesn't
mat but regular combing is still needed to remove dead hair
and tangles.
The Ragdoll Cat Personality can be described
as gentle, intelligent, even-tempered and easygoing.
Its often observed that the ragdoll has a habit of being relaxed
and un-protesting when handled. This cat has a loving and adaptable
nature and can quickly become attached to its owner.
